G’ Morning to ya. Today I have tracks from two artists who are making waves in the dance scene at the moment, getting a lot of blog exposure & support by critics as well as support for their tracks from big name DJ’s as well.

French Fries is a young producer from France who is starting to gain some serious momentum seeing a lot of his songs being played out in clubs & also wider exposure coming with the release of his ‘Arma EP’ (which can be purchased HERE), which features tracks including ‘Senta’ & ‘Predador’ as well as remixes from Frenchies BeatauCue & UK guns Tomb Crew & Bok Bok. I highly recommend you get this E.P & also pick up some more productions from this kid, he is gonna explode soon!

His sound sits somewhere between bleepy Tech, Tribal & Big room house. Here are some goodies that I have uncovered over the last week & were played out numerous times during the Creamfields Australia tour by numerous artists (click here for photos of Creamfields):

Afrojack has been producing & remixing up a storm this year with some already momentous tracks from the master producer being employed by many a top DJ (think Bangduck, I’ll Be There & Satisfaction!). His new remix for Example’s track ‘Kick Start’ calls on a more commercial housey production style with big room build-ups, break-downs & heavier use of vocals for all of those mainstream guys & gals who are in it for the sing-alongs.

However Afrojack manages to push his Bleepy Dutch-house influence with a driving bleepy hook-line. This track was dropped by the likes of Dirty South, Tommie Sunshine & Bingo Players to name a few in their sets to great effect!

Kickstarts (Afrojack Remix)- Example

Congorock’s track ‘Babylon’ has been out for a few months now but as of late an ‘improved’ (or in my eyes) version of the original track has been released with Mr. Lexx (the same Rastafarian rapper who was spitting rhymes along with Santogold on Major Lazer’s track ’Hold The Line’), lending his supreme rapping vocals over the track. Jamaican/Rastafarian vocals dubbed over dance themed tracks is starting to become popularised & personally I’m all for it!

Following on from the growing trend of using french horns & samples in tracks, Swedish producer Style Of Eye has created a very groovy party track in remixing MVSEVM’s track ‘French Jeans’. A Very Boy 8-Bit-esque track taking a few lessons from Boy 8-Bit’s track Baltic Pine (listen to the middle riff closely & note the similiarites). A1 Bassline has been a bit quiet over the first few months of year, but with the recent release of his HUGE remix for TV Rock’s club track ‘In The Air’, his Breathless EP out now (click HERE) & a new mix for Ministry of Sound beginning to surface in blog land, A1 Bassline looks set to once again take over the blogosphere in 2010. Excision is a man at the top of the dubstep game at the moment with both his & Datsik’s heavy style of dubstep & industrial wobbles taking over the Beatport chart at the moment (check out the Top 100 tracks in the dubstep genre on Beatport & you will understand what I mean (BEATPORT TOP 100 DUBSTEP). Skism’s remix of Excision & Datsik’s track Boom is face meltingly hard. Skism definetly hasn’t turned away from the original raw & heaviness of this tune & has used this to his advantage in crafting his remix. GOOD SHIT

Got an absolute rave of a party track for you courtesy of those Dutch giant-killers Bingo Players! ‘When I Dip’ is laden with Horns, bootiful drum beats & Whooping vocals. Definetly a different direction for Bingo Player’s whose previous productions would swing more towards the tech-house genre, taking a leaf out of Foamo & the likes books this tracks is ready to destroy dance floors!

Got some Bangin’ music today from every direction possible! The likes of Nadastrom, Momma’s Boy Vs. Mikix The Cat (same person?) & LA Riots

Nadastrom’s remix of Pase Rock’s track ‘Nights’ starts out with Pase Rock’s chopped vocals & a pulsing wet throbbing bass, giving way to a Bleepy fast-paced siren which then culminates into one giant build-up, craftily dropping into a Bleepy, bouncy banger with stinging bass weaving throughout the track & Pase Rock’s modified vocals matched with airy synth’s throughout the breakdown in the middle of the track. Nights (Nadastrom Remix)- Pase Rock

Been listening to AC Slater’s Keep Watch mix done for Mishka (featured on one of my previous posts HERE), and one track that stand’s out is Momma’s Boy Vs. Mikix the Cat’s track ‘Party Rock’ (which is quite funny because Momma’s Boy & Mikix the Cat are both aliases of the same producer, Mike Gnacadja). This track is the same kind of bugged out wet Bleeped filled sort of stuff that both Mikix the Cat & Momma’s Boy are known for & dang is it good! Also of note is Momma’s Boy banger ‘Give It Up’ with a Bleepy hook & minimal drum loops, giving the song a tribal sort of vibe, & ‘At Night’ which features a party-esque vocal hook & wobbly Bleeps (the best of both worlds) stacked on to the max!

LA Riots have recently turned a massive corner with one half of the production duo leaving the outfit & being replaced by another producer. Not to make calls too early into the new production duo’s relationship but, I think LA Riots have made a change for the better with their to be release track ‘The Drop’ being featured on many DJ’s mixes & being played out in a lot of sets. LA Riot’s remix of the Stafford Brother’s track, ‘Speaker Freaker’ seeing the boys diversify themselves & delve into a the bouncier side of tech-house (very Deadmau5-esque think ‘Hi-Friend’).
